Andrea Gwynnel

Andrea Gwynnel (E-RYT 500, YACEP) has been teaching Yoga since 2007 and has taught over 6000 hours. She was honored to teach for many years at Freespirit Yoga, Belmont Athletic Club and Kava Yoga in Long Beach, in addition to teaching a wide variety of public classes, she also taught 200 and 300 hour teacher trainings and an interesting array of workshops. She teaches many styles and levels and likes to explore different energetic expressions through yoga asana. With her MFA in classical theatre, she is also an actor and speech coach. She has a passion for the art of speaking in such a way as to activate the mind/body connection and she loves to weave philosophy, breath-work and valuable alignment points into her classes.

Andrea completed her 200 and 300 hour teacher trainings through Yoga Works, Los Angeles in the mid 2000s with the legendary Annie Carpenter, Joan Hyman and Lisa Wofford and began teaching Yoga the day she completed her first certification. Eventually she traveled alone to India for 5 weeks and completed a 100 hour teacher training in Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda with Shukl’acharya at the Satvik Retreat Center in the Himalayas. That trip transformed the spiritual aspect of her practice and she hopes to one day lead a group of yogis to India to experience Yoga‘s birthplace.
